Rest & Retreat this week focuses on the theme Learning to Let Go by allowing the body to soften, release tension, and rest without pressure. When the body feels safe and supported, the heart naturally follows.
We often carry what the mind refuses to set down. Gentle movement and conscious rest give the body permission to release without force or effort. This practice is not about achieving flexibility or strength. It is about creating space.
Today’s Rest & Retreat includes a slow, accessible hatha yoga practice suitable for all levels. The sequence is intentionally simple, emphasizing breath awareness, gentle spinal movement, supported forward folding, and rest. Participation in movement is optional. Remaining seated or lying down is always welcome.
As part of today’s practice, the same kirtan melody introduced during Friday Night Kirtan returns here in a softer, quieter form. Familiar sound supports the nervous system. You may chant softly, hum, or simply rest in the presence of the sound.
After the practice, a simple sattvic meal is offered to continue the theme of letting go through nourishment. This meal is designed to be grounding, easy to digest, and supportive of rest.
Rest & Retreat is an invitation, not a requirement. Come as you are. Do what you can. Leave the rest.
You can return to this session anytime during the week and allow it to support you whenever rest is needed.
